Today’s wealth is coming from earned influence created by communications. Wealth Is Created by Whom You Influence, Not Where You Came From.  So how do you attract wealth? You do so by creating a personal brand of influence.

What Is Personal Branding? “Personal branding describes the process by which individuals and entrepreneurs differentiate themselves and stand out from a crowd by identifying and articulating their unique value proposition, whether professional or personal, and then leverage it across platforms with a consistent message and image to achieve a specific goal. Individuals can enhance their recognition as experts in their field, establish reputation and credibility, advance their careers, and build strong relationships and self-confidence.”

The successful brand YOU impact and influence model has the proper mix of confidence, passion, likeability, determination, focus and image.  Successful personal brands need to be authentic, have a good reputation, and be discovered by the right people.

Many people may view personal branding as a form of self-promotion and selfishness. Developing your brand makes you a more valuable asset, whether to the company you work for, a potential employer, or your own enterprise. It’s your future we’re talking about, make it a success. By effectively branding yourself, your career success will translate into happiness outside the workplace as well.

In personal branding image is important.  Why?  Because it allows you to manage the first 4 critical seconds.
Your first impressions will determine your future.  An impeccable image will allow you to gain access and create influence by breaking down the barriers of the lasting impressions most people make within the first 4 seconds of meeting you or seeing you for the first time. Your first impressions are critical to any meeting, speech or sales presentation and your personal brand.

During these first critical moments people may decide:
A -Do I like this person?
B- Do I believe this person?
C- Would I buy something from this person?

At every first encounter, even before you speak, people have already made assumptions and formed judgments about you. In fact, 55 percent of your perceived credibility is based on your appearance alone. Dynamic Appeal can help you pave the road to a more successful interactions and master the way you are perceived in any situation.

How To Remain Invisible In Your Career – 7 Easy Steps

1- Be a Dark Cloud – Most leaders possess a positive outlook and a winning attitude. They also have the confidence to expect acceptance from others and receive high compensation for their talents. This requires caring about yourself and meeting your own high standards. So please remain pessimistic and save yourself.

2- Have No Clue of Your Talents and Never Try To Improve On Them – Successful people recognize that their greatest contributions come from how they use and hone the talents they were given. They understand their talents and gifts must be shared to have value. To keep yourself safe and secure from competing on a higher level continue to believe that your gifts are for you alone and are perfect the way they are.

3- Don’t Try to Understand Others – Oh boy, this is a doozie. If you are happy with where you are and with the income you make, never, I repeat never try to understand another person’s personality type or values. You don’t need to be persuasive or in sync with their values, because you are always right, right?

4- Dress for Comfort Not Success – Sweatpants? Sure! Take time to shower and groom? Why would you? If sloppy packaging and messy presentation is just how you roll, why change that for someone else? Your performance speaks for itself. If they want to put you in front of their top clients they will take you as you are.

5- Never Improve Your Communication Skills. I mean isn’t that just kissing up? Your vulgar language and poor vocabulary conveys your viewpoint and mood perfectly. Why change it? Besides, your style kills at parties and works great with all your friends.

6- Keep All Praise To Yourself – There is only so much praise to go around. I mean, that other person didn’t deserve their promotion, they are obviously the bosses pet. Everyone knows that every team project you have worked on has been successful only because of you. No one else is as talented as you and if they are they are probably extremely arrogant.

7- Keep a cluttered workspace – If you are the only one who can find something in your disheveled surroundings, that makes you even more valuable. Besides, it’s important your desk matches your appearance. It’s called personal branding, duh!

So if you are dead set on being lonely, broke and frustrated continue to be immature and selfish. You will reach your goals in no time. You can continue to hide your greatness from the world or you can make the changes necessary to step into the spotlight and claim your rewards.

“It is not only fine feathers that make fine birds.” ~Aesop

As a long time “fashionista” I am all for great clothing that fits well and screams success. As an “Executive Enhancement Expert” I realize that within three seconds of walking into any social or business gathering, you’ve been evaluated by everyone in the room. Image has power. Those people have appraised your hairstyle your clothing and have assessed your grooming. In just three to four seconds you have made an indelible impression. Some people have already written you off and some who watched you enter are intrigued and make a mental note to get to know you better.
Now what? You’ve caught the attention of a potential client, or someone who could help you take your career to the next level. They have made it a point to try to engage you in a conversation. When you open your mouth does their interest wane? Do you find yourself with nothing interesting to say and the moment passes? Do you become overly talkative and never let the other person speak simply out of nervousness? Do you end up wishing the conversation would have gone differently or feel like the opportunity has now passed?

The challenge for most people is coming to terms with their shortcomings in their interpersonal skills. For example, I was watching an episode of my favorite fashion show. The woman featured was on a wonderful path to embracing change and starting a new business for herself. The fashion transformation was astounding, to say the least. You could feel her confidence level rise; she stood taller and looked marvelous. Then – she opened her mouth… The first thing she said was, “I think I’m going to SH** myself, I look so good!” My heart dropped. Now, this was not the first time she had said this during the experience – it was her “go to” phrase. But I was really rooting for her! I wanted her transformation to be complete! Image is not skin deep. Anyone can walk into a room well groomed and make a great first impression but there must be substance behind the image to sustain the impression.
Great communication skills should be paramount on your skills training list. Unfortunately, in today’s high-tech, abbreviated, “let it all hang out” world, we forget the value of the words we speak and the impact they have on ourselves, our image, our career and most importantly others. Words have impact! Words can spark a movement, heal broken hearts and can calm a crying child; words can make or break your career. Learn to use them wisely and for the most good.

Whether you’re looking to take your speaking skills to the next level, you’d like to learn how to present your ideas more clearly in any situation, you want to improve your sales and productivity, you want to move up the corporate ladder or you simply want to improve the relationships in your life, Laurie can help you create ongoing results.
